  • My boss had this 99cent store kick for a while.  He used to show us a lot of his loot.  My personal fav is the one I'm sipping on right now...  Mrs. Fields brand mint hot chocolate.  Normally, my motto is not to consume any food or medicines from 99cent stores, but two things about this thrift store buy won me over.  The first is the brand name.  This ain't no generic, no name product.  It's Mrs. Fields.  I eat her cookies because they're fantastic.  Couldn't be that bad, right?  I surmise that this product was for sale at the 99cent store because it's old, out of season, a discontinued product, or the mint flavor didn't curry favor with customers.  Even, if this product is old, can powder hot chocolate mix really go bad?  The second reason that gives my mind some ease about sipping on this concoction is that although this product was purchased from the 99cent store, the label is clearly marked $4.99.  That might seem like a lot for hot chocolate, however you should see the size of the tub.  It's as big as a regular sized oatmeal cannister.  If this product is almost five bucks at a 99cent store, in my mind, it's still good to drink...  Don't ask me what logic I'm using to justify this.
