  • Vinny vs. Zoolander

Doctors say that babies should be given supervised "belly time" so that infants can strengthen their arms and neck and learn to turn their heads while they are on their tummies.  When we give Vinny "belly time," he always faces right.  He can lift his upper body enough to move his head to the other direction, but he outright refuses to do so.  We've tried to turn his head towards the direction but he won't budge.  The boy's neck muscles are so strong that we can't even force him to crane his head to the other side.  I don't know if it's because he doesn't want to or he doesn't know how to do so.  That being said, if we put him down on his belly with his head facing left, he'll automatically do a mini push-up and crane his neck the other way to establish his favorite position.  It looks like he may not grow up to be an ambidextrous catwalk turner.  He does have nice hands, so maybe he can be a hand model.
