  • Europe (jet-lag post)

Okay, I just got back from Europe.  Can you believe it?  I didn't miss home or the Internet the whole time.  Even when the decrepit IMac that was provided in one of our hotel rooms refused to let me use an underscore... and thereby deterring me from checking my own xanga... I was cool with it.

I just caught up with all of the xanga goings-on.  Things really don't change much do they?

Some good times had in London, Paris and Rome.  Pictures and posts to come.  I promise.

  • I think it's about high time that they started making pizzas with real bacon... not this canadian bacon stuff.  Who's with me here?

  • I'm not a Taylor Hicks fan, but he's totally gonna win.  Katherine just dropped the ball big time.

On another note, I had a kick-ass dinner of buttery, beefy goodness last night, and I will have another epic dinner tonight.  My colon is ruined.

  • Woohoo!  I'm going to back to back concerts when I get back from Europe.  That's super kick-ass.  This summer's gonna be a memorable one for sure.

  • I'm shocked and mad that they cancelled Everwood.  What the hell?  It was a good show.  And Soo, it looks like Aquaman ain't gonna happen.  Sorry, dude.

  • I'm sure by now, most of you have read or heard about the bears attacking and eating a barbary macaque in front of zoo visitors.  Am I the only one (besides skwrl) who not so secretly wishes stuff like that happens all the time when I visit the zoo?  I mean c'mon, that's why I watch anything on National Geographic.  I'm always waiting for the lion to chomp down on the zebra's ass and the great white to bite down on a poor little seal pup.  That's how it is.  Animals eat other animals.  I mean even though I love cows, I don't want to watch an hour documentary on cows nibbling daisys and sweet grass.

I guess I'm morbid to wish that I could see video of the bears rushing the monkey (who apparently put up a good fight).  Don't you think watching animals do what comes naturally to them is much less morbid than watching half the violence shown in movies and TV?  Maybe I'm just making excuses for my crazy, deviant mind.

  • Last night, within a two hour span, I heard songs by Keane and Snow Patrol on the various shows and commercials I was watching.  Somehow it really feels like vindication when songs/bands I like are featured on TV.  KT Tunstall was also heard a lot during the night (which has been the case practically every night), but they used one of her lesser known songs.  I'm a dork.

  • A client emailed me back and signed of with "Yours, John".  I think that's weird.  That's a little too affectionate to use when you're communicating within a business setting.  Don't you think?  A simple "Sincerely" would have done just fine.  I usually sign off with "Kind Regards".  That works in a lot of situations.  How do you end your letters?

  • I did not want to watch, yet I had to.  David Blaine is a train wreck.

  • I've always found it sorta strange that there is a Dove brand of soap and a Dove brand of chocolate.  I mean c'mon, both products sorta melt in moist heated environments.  That's weird right?  I still use Dove soap and will eat Dove chocolate if it's available for easy/convenient consumption, I'm just stating what I think is the obvious.
